The Gift Behind the Shadow of Arrogance - Gene Key 31
Many women hold back from fully expressing themselves because they're afraid of being perceived as arrogant.
They hold back their visions, wisdom, and truths because there’s an old story running through their mind that if they speak freely and confidently about what they love and know, they’ll be labelled as “too full of themselves” or worse, as narcissistic bitches.
The sad part about this is that deep in their heart, they know their vision will bring healing, joy, and peace to the world. And by holding back, they also hold back this powerful potential. They can’t find it within themselves to shine a light on their vision because they know they’ll also have to shine a light on themselves.
In a world that’s done everything to make sure women don’t shine, shining can feel risky as hell.
So how do we flip the narrative?
By looking at the gift that’s behind the collective shadow of arrogance.
According to Merriam-Webster, arrogance is:
an attitude of superiority manifested in an overbearing manner or in presumptuous claims or assumptions.
There are tons of examples in the media of how arrogance shows up and of the harm it conjures. These examples alone make the best of us want to hide under a rock. If showing up means exhibiting even 10% of that arrogance, we’re not having any of it.
But what is this shadow really and what about that gift? Looking through the lens of The Gene Keys will help us make sense of it all.
What are the Gene Keys?
According to Richard Rudd, the person who transmitted this work, Gene Keys are:
64 universal attributes of consciousness. Each Gene Key is a multi-dimensional portal into your inner being whose sole purpose is to activate your higher purpose and ultimately allow you to embrace your own Divinity. One way in which your higher purpose is activated is through sustained contemplation of the Gene Keys and their frequency bands.
Each Gene key brings together the wisdom of the 64 Hexagrams of the I Ching, and the 64 codons of our DNA. They also correlate to astrology. It’s an awe-inspiring system for self-reflection and awakening.

Within each Gene Key is a Shadow, Gift, and Siddhi. The Gift is what you naturally possess, and the Shadow is why you are disconnected from the Gift and Siddhi. The Siddhi is the highest potential that is on the other side of the Gift and Shadow. Here’s another way to look at it:
The Shadow is the low-frequency victim pattern, the Gift is the creative unlocking of that Shadow and the Siddhi is its deep essence.
To explore arrogance, we’ll look at Gene Key 31, Sounding Your Truth, because it carries the Shadow of arrogance. And on the other side of that shadow is the Gift of Leadership.

From July 25 to July 30, 2021, with the Sun in Leo, this Gene Key 31 is illuminated. So, this is an excellent time to explore how this particular shadow and gift is showing up in your life.
Arrogance According to Gene Key 31
It’s not surprising that we associate arrogance with overbearing public figures and people who make bold claims. From the perspective of the Gene Keys, this shadow is defined by the skill of using language to manipulate others.
What makes manipulation a shadow rather than a gift (leadership) is the fact that the intention is rooted in the intellect (or ego) rather than the heart.
(NOTE: I’m not referring to Divine Intellect here. That’s something very different.)
While there’s nothing inherently wrong with the ego, when it’s not led by the heart, the ego has the inherent tendency to believe it can save itself (ie: control outcomes, no matter what the cost).

So when we use language at this low frequency, we have the potential to create long-lasting harm. Just look at the words expressed by leaders of religious and political movements, or even by a particular ancestor in your lineage. The repercussions can take generations to undo.
This is because they weren’t speaking from the heart.
At the Shadow frequency humans think, speak and act as if they were separate from nature, rather than being an organ of it.
And this is where many women get confused:
they INTUITIVELY KNOW they want to act on behalf of nature (ie: that they are an “organ of nature”) but they buy into the illusion that they are in control of the outcome AND that this outcome is entirely self-serving.
But what they need to realize is that their words DO “carry the perfume of love behind them.” When they take a close look at why they want to express what they want to express, they’ll clearly see it’s because they want to serve the world. This can’t be arrogant because any action that’s in service of nature. In fact, this act is nature itself!
The Gift Behind the Shadow: Leadership
A true leader, from the perspective of the Gene Keys, is one who’s directed by their heart/soul/soul’s voice/intuition.
If the word “leader” triggers you (ie: you’re not willing to see yourself as a leader, yet), I’d like to offer this twist:
As someone with a vision that has the potential to benefit (heal or bring joy and peace) your community, and as a result, the greater collective, you are about to take on the role of a guide. People will want you to shine a light on the path because you’re the one who can see it; they can’t yet.
Your ego will try to play tricks on you. It’ll try to convince you that you’re arrogant for wanting to imagine this role as a guide. This is fine. That’s the ego’s job. It doesn’t mean you need to give it more energy by believing it
To counteract this sneaky ego trip, remind yourself that your deepest intention for wanting to be this guide is so that you can ease the collective suffering. There’s nothing arrogant about this beautiful vision.
You are a part of nature and your vision is nature’s way of either healing itself or evolving.
The 31st Gift, like all the Gifts, represents a huge step beyond the intellect and into the heart. Only the heart really perceives the collective suffering that comes from being marooned in your intellect at the Shadow frequency. Thus your natural urge is to help others escape that suffering in some way. Furthermore, since the 31st Gift is the gift of understanding the masses and the language of the Shadow frequency, it naturally uses this gift to help draw others out of the co-dependent victim patterns and relationships of the lower frequencies. The 31st Gift still carries an agenda, but that agenda is to help people out of the narrow, neurolinguistic confines of their own conditioning. No one understands the specifics of conditioning quite like the 31st Gift.
Shifting Frequencies - From Arrogance to Guidance
The biggest gift you can give yourself, as you dream of sharing your vision, is to contemplate the Shadow frequency of arrogance so that you may use the higher frequency of the Gift to help “others escape suffering”. From this contemplative space, you’ll start to understand the language required to speak and write from the Gift frequency.
Here are few questions to ask yourself to help you make this shift:
What small act can you take each day to quiet your mind in order to hear the subtle voice of your heart?
How are you already acting from the Gift frequency? Make the list your heart wants you to make. Don’t allow your ego to take over.
What examples of Gift and Shadow frequencies do you see in the world today? How are they different? How are they similar?
How does the Shadow of arrogance arise in you? Examine this without judgment. Simply name the arrogance you see, and allow it to integrate into the knowledge you have of arrogance on a collective level. Embrace your arrogance and you will learn to release it.
Next Steps
The truth is, we all carry the Shadow and the Gift within us. Unless we’re enlightened, our words will carry a whiff of arrogance.
But what is even truer is that we don’t need to let this Shadow dictate our path. By looking directly at this Shadow, we also highlight the Gift. And the more we do this, the more we’ll act from the Gift frequency.
